New Kit Deal for Eugene
YISHUN, May 27 (Reuters) - Soccer star Eugene has ended his month-long disputes with Adidas by signing a new kit deal with German sporting group, Puma.
German media reported the deal with Puma was said to be worth at least 4.45million pounds over three years but a spokeswoman for Puma would only say it was a 'substantial figure'.
The sponsorship deal will see Eugene end his three year long association with rival Adidas and don Puma boots on Sunday.
"We are excited and thrilled to welcome Eugene to the Puma Family," Tom Kallar, Puma's marketing director, said in a statement. "We believe that he will help increase our presence in the Street Soccer scene."
It is the latest endorsement deal to be struck by Eugene after reports regarding disputes over endorsement fees with Adidas surfaced last month.
"I am just happy that it's all over," added Eugene.
"Right now, I just want to concentrate on my game."
